About the illustrations -
The Immortal Jellyfish - Jagoda Sadowska
Much like the jellyfish, trans people always existed, and always will!
Papa Seahorse - Cara Rooney
A symbol that challenges preconceptions of gender roles and biology, Seahorse fathers are known for carrying babies until they hatch.
Snaily - Lauren Morsley
A ode to the wonderful hermaphroditic shelled gastropod.
Artemis - Katriona Gillon
The Greek goddess Artemis was known to be a protector of women, nature, transition and children. She embodies many cornerstones values of the queer community, and represents the dedication to protecting trans women in particular.
You are Here - Jen Collins
A message of hope and appreciation for our Trans community, and a reminder of the love our close ones hold for us.
Swan - Mairi Isla
In British folklore, swans are associated with transformative magic. This design draws from both myth, and the story of the “ugly duckling”, a tale which for many represents the queer experience of discovering your true self and family later in life.
